Daegu, South Korea / Uttarakhand Live: Dr. Raghav Langer, Director of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, represented India at the International Water Week 2024, held from November 13 to 16 in the scenic city of Daegu, South Korea. This year’s theme was ‘Building Smart Water Future by Sharing Experience & Technology’, with participation from representatives of approximately 60 countries.The event featured a Water Leaders’ Round Table, which aimed to foster high-level commitments and actions based on the Declarations from the World Water Forum. Concurrently, the World Water Cities Forum and World Water Partnership provided a platform for water sector officials, experts, and industry leaders to collaborate on solutions and share best practices related to water management. Discussions also highlighted achievements made under the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).An extensive exhibition showcased cutting-edge water technologies, products, and services related to water management, treatment, and conservation. Companies from around the globe presented advancements in water efficiency, wastewater treatment, AI-based water monitoring systems, desalination technologies, smart water metering solutions, and water infrastructure.The conference also included thematic and bilateral meetings where partner countries discussed critical issues surrounding integrated water management. These discussions aimed to foster collaborations among government agencies, NGOs, businesses, and research institutions. The event recognized outstanding achievements in water innovation and environmental stewardship through the Global Water Awards and the Youth Water Forum Asia.Dr. Langer led the Indian delegation with a focus on building partnerships within the water sector and advancing global efforts toward water sustainability.
